Dog Grooming Coming to The Shops at Ithaca Mall

Bubbles and Bows, a full service dog-grooming and dog-watching center, is opening October 3rd at The Shops at Ithaca Mall.  Dogs will be able to enjoy full-service baths, full haircuts and nail trims.  ‘Stay and Play’ dog-watching services will allow dog owners to run errands for up to two hours.  Nikki Allen, the store owner, attended a grooming academy in Rochester.  After five years of dog-grooming experience elsewhere, the opportunity to operate her own business is a “dream fulfilled.”  She wants “outstanding customer service and good relationships with pets and pet owners,” which is why she chose the slogan ‘Quality you can see’ for Bubbles and Bows.  Allen’s desire to open her business in Ithaca was influenced by her family; this region is at the heart of her family’s businesses.  Prior to entering the dog-grooming field, she worked at her father’s lawnmower-repair shop in Cortland, and her mother and two uncles also own businesses in the surrounding region.  She expects to raise funds for the Tompkins County SPCA and other local nonprofit organizations with one or two events each year.
