[Kids Get] An Extra Opportunity To Wear Their Halloween Costume…

ITHACA, N.Y. (Oct. 16, 2014) — The Shops at Ithaca Mall will host the Finger Lakes Family Festival & Mall-oween Parade from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 25th.  Participating stores and outside organizations provide fun activities, demonstrations, and information for families.  The Mall-oween Parade is an opportunity for kids to get dressed up in their Halloween costumes and parade through the Mall in a line, stopping at participating stores for treats.

“Kids love it because it’s an extra opportunity to wear their Halloween costume, as well as see lots of other kids’ costumes," said Rafael Larramendi, Marketing Director for The Shops at Ithaca Mall.  "Parents love it because it’s early in the day, it’s indoors, and there are things for them to see and do as well.  It’s really a win-win.”

All children must be pre-registered to participate in the Mall-oween Parade, which parents can do at the Mall table in the Food Court on Saturday, October 18th, from 10a.m. to 2p.m. (during the Fall Pet Expo), and from October 22nd to 24th from 3 – 7p.m.  The cost is $2 per child.

The event is sponsored by Nikki’s Party Place, Fidelis Care, and Ithaca Child, and the list of vendors includes American Red Cross, Avon, Finger Lakes Independent Center, Five Star Urgent Care, H&R Block, Kinney Drugs, Mary Kay, Seishi Honbu Karate, Thirty One Gifts, Imagine That Face Painting, and more.  A.C. Moore will have a make-and-take Olaf activity.

“We have some new vendors this year as well,” added Larramendi, referring to the "Ultimate Frozen Party" Meet and Greet Event, where young visitors can meet and sing along with Queen Elsa and Ice Princess Anna.  Pictures are available with the cast for $7.00.  Guests can also visit the Big Screen of Terror Haunted House (matinees between noon and 2pm) and Spirit Halloween- now open.
