The Shops at Ithaca Mall Welcomes The Costume Place

The Costume Place is open until October 31 at The Shops at Ithaca Mall, with a wide assortment of costumes and accessories. “We have masks, wigs and hats, the largest assortment of all of those, hundreds of each,” says Debbie Worthing, owner of The Costume Place stores in both the Shops at Ithaca Mall and the Arnot Mall. Also available are accessories for every costume like makeup and costume jewelery.

Worthing has been in the costume retail business for over 20 years. “It’s a fun time of year,” Worthing remarks. “People can come in and have a fun time trying these [costumes] on. So, even if the economy is bad it’s a nice ‘out’ for people to be able to get together with friends and have a nice party.”

Despite the demands of running two stores, Worthing helps the local community where she can. “We have supported this year the flooding that happened in Tioga County and Broome County,” she comments.
